A Neighborhood Center is located in each of the ten counties providing services for the low income population in that area. The goal in working with each family or individual is helping them to achieve self-sufficiency and stability. A wide variety of services are available including emergency assistance, life skills workshops, one-on-one family support and referrals to OACAC programs or other services in the community.
Neighborhood Center staff and volunteers also collaborate with other agencies and resources to create solutions to community problems. All activities at the Neighborhood Center are geared to eliminate the six conditions of poverty in that community: unemployment, inadequate education, inadequate income, inadequate housing, malnutrition and emergency situations.
