  • Providing every parent with opportunities for a significant experience in Head Start
  • Ensuring that parents are involved in making policy and program decisions for their Head Start program.
Families build the confidence, skills and knowledge they need to access community resources on their behalf by:
  • Working together and providing leadership to strengthen their community
  • Relating the needs of Head Start families to the community
  • Assist in improving existing services or bringing in new services
  • Participate in the classroom as paid employees, volunteers and observers
  • Helping to develop and participate in activities at the center level for all parents
